It is estimated that there are about 500 different breeds of dog in the world but the The Kennel Club (UK) only recognises 201 of them. These breeds have a really wide range of intelligence between them. Border Collies are the most intelligent and Afghans the most stupid. However, like anything else, there are always exceptions to the rule.
