All about cockatoos.

What isn't to love about cockatoo's they are one of nature's most unusual parrots. They are the most emotional of all species. Sometimes. In return they will need you to spend lots of time with them.

They attach themselves so rapidly to humans, and are know as Velcro birds.  Cockatoo's have a single color plumage, white or dark and they have erectile crest.

They are very soft and there feathers usually have beautiful color. They do leave off a lot of dust and dander. So if you have allergies probably not the bird for you.

Cockatoo's beaks are very powerful and can easily demolish objects. They can demolish a wooden toy in no time. They can be very load at times, so an apartment would mot be ideal for these birds.

Cockatoo's are native to Australia and Indonesia. There are 18 species of cockatoo {including The well known cockatiel}

Food for cockatoos should contain a seed mix, all sorts of fruit and vegetables {except avocados} There toxic to birds. Occasionally some protein can be offered like cheese, hardboiled eggs.

Cockatoos are intelligent. Affectionate, and acrobatic. They love to show off.

They can talk but are much better at learning tricks because they are good performers. Cockatiels are very popular pets, not only for their striking beauty but also for there intelligence and affectionate, outgoing, cuddly, and gentle personalities.

If you decide to own a cockatoo, remember they must come out of there cage everyday and spend time with their owners. Owning a cockatoo can be a wounderfull and rewarding experience but also requires commitment and time.
