When considering getting a dog, the cost is a really important factor to consider. Here I will make it simple by explaining how much dogs might cost in different categories.

Common Factors that costs go into (Year):

  • Food ($500)
  • Treats ($30)
  • Grooming ($15)
  • Nail Clipping ($90)
  • License Fee ($25)
  • Toys ($15)
  • Veterinary Care ($200)
  • Total ($875)

Here is the simple diagram explaining how much might be spent on the dog. It actually varies because not all dogs would need vet care if following a healthy diet. Small dogs would tend to eat less so less food would need to be bought. Basically, this isn't true cost but an estimate on how much it could cost. It could cost more, imagine your dog needs surgery for a huge amount, you would have to pay a lot.

This is only to give a brief idea on how much it could cost to own a dog. Small dogs would probably cost less while big dogs cost more.
