Cats, love them, or hate them, are pretty amazing creatures. In ancient Rome, the cat was a symbol of liberty and freedom. In some Roman households cats were seen as gods who protected the home and Roman legions often kept a cat as a mascot.

The proper term for a cat's whiskers is vibrissae and a cat's skeleton has 290 bones, 29 of which are located in the tail. Cats also have three eyelids on each eye and the eye one that moves from side to side is called the haw. A cat's heart beats at twice the rate of a human one.

Ailurophobia is the fear of cats and Julius Caesar was known to be terrified of them.

Sir Isaac Newton who was a great cat lover, invented the cat lap.

All cats can retract their claws, except for the cheetah.
Best wishes.
Sincerely,
