There are millions and millions of homeless cats and dogs. So many animals each year get euthanized. There’s really no reason this should be happening. If all the animal owners out their would do there part and get them fixed, we would not have the mess we do. So many cats and dogs are dumped in dumpsters, thrown off bridges, tossed out of cars on the side of roads, or just plain neglected because people just don’t want to take care of then. It’s inhumane and down right wrong.
What’s even crazier you can have you animal spayed, or neutered for what it would cost most people to feed a family of four out. What’s more important going to eat out at that restaurant or taking care of your animal. I’m so sick of hearing people say I just don’t have the money. Well you had the money to go buy a carton of cigs, or a case of beer, or order those 2 pizzas when you could have eaten something out of the pantry. Besides almost every community has at least one program for helping you get your pet fixed. There are usually mobile spay neuter clinics where you drop your animal in the morning and pick them up after work. These usually are much cheaper than going to your local vets office.
Do yourself a favor and spend the money to get your animals fixed. In the long run it will cost you a lot less money. Less money and less headache. Getting you loved pet fixed will save you money in replacing destroyed or soiled furniture that you male/female might have sprayed or scratched while trying to work there frustration out. No headache, because you won’t have to listen to the incessant crying.
Lets not forget about the health issues. They tend to live longer and healthier lives. This means less money paid out in vet bills, medications, and special foods. In females it can reduce the risk of Uterine, Breast, and Ovarian cancer. In males it reduces the risk of Prostate cancer and other disorders. If they are altered they are less likely to roam and be exposed to various viruses and diseases that can be quite costly, debilitating or fatal.
Female cats can go into heat several times a year. They are tormented by the urge to mate - so are you. Even if you keep her lock up this may not work. Sometimes the female manages to slip by when no one is looking. They will go hunt for a male to mate with. Next thing you know you’ve got a litter of unwanted kittens. So many cats get turned out and become feral. They are more likely to carry diseases. These feral cats are terrible on our environment; kills birds and other animals to survive. All the time continuing to reproduce with what ever male/female comes along; could be your lovable house cat.
Males also will hunt for a female in heat; sometimes spending days or even longer away from home. They will sometimes actually get lost and never make there way back home. Males also tend to be more aggressive and get into fights. Here again more vet bills. They spray to mark their territory, a very offensive odor to humans. They can stink up your house, car, or even your yard.
Most of this information I have given is common knowledge. So why do we over and over again ignore our pets and their needs. Once altered most of these animals will become more loving, attentive, docile, and all around better temperament. If you didn’t know this most fixed cats and dogs don’t spray anymore. So help your self, get your animal spayed or neutered.
