My cat's name is Chubby. She was born at home with four other cats. We only kept her and her brother. All of our cats are treated with love and affection. Chubby, much to my dismay is not affectionate at all. She seems frightened all the time as if she suffered some kind of traumatic experience with humans.
Chubby is one of the most beautiful cats I have. She's white, long haired, fluffy, mint green eyes, bushy white tail and pink ears. We first began to notice the behavior had gotten worse when she returned from being neutered. She was always shy but when she got home from the vet's office, she seemed paranoid, scared and frightened of us all of the time.
We always kept the cat feeder in the kitchen with their water. Since Chubby was scared to be around people, she began not eating and got very thin. Afraid for her health, we moved the feeder to the basement and she began to eat again. Then she stopped using the litter boxes the other cats used. So we got a litter box just for her and that worked. If anyone got near enough to touch her, she would immediately lick her body clean.
The vet suggested we keep her alone with us in the room for a month until she warmed up to us and became less afraid. We did this for 2 weeks but had to let her out because the other cats would sit in front of the door crying for us to let her out.
We love Chubby but don't know how to show her how much we love her.
Would welcome any ideas.
