Working Animal Control
My X-husband worked at the animal shelter with me many years ago. He brought in these two big gray and white tabby cats. He was being particularly lazy that day. ( one of the many reasons he's my X). Rather than going out the back door and around to the door to the cat room, he went straight through the dog kennel to the other door to the cat room.
As soon as I heard the door shut behind me I thought to myself, who on earth just went to the dog kennel. Surely he can't be that dumb.
I had to go see for myself who had gone into the kennel. As soon as I opened the door I saw him half way to the cat room door. I couldn't say anything without getting the dogs in a frenzy, so I waited and watched to see if he would make it.
What not to do
- Keep in mind he is carrying two large cats NOT in carriers.
- The dogs are being unusually quiet, yet watching as he walked by.
- As he reached for the doorknob I thought to myself, I'll be damned, he made it.
As soon as his hand hit the doorknob the dogs went insane. It was like watching a cartoon as the two cats seemed to spin in circles around him as he made a mad dash through the door. I ran through the kennel to the cat room to see how he came out on the other side.
One cat had all four paws clamped onto his scalp. The second one was inside his shirt. I truly wish I would have had a camera that day. The look on his face was priceless. I know I must sound like a mean person but, really, you had to be there.
It took a good ten minutes to get the cats pried loose from him and into a cage.
For all the cat lovers out there. We were only boarding the cuddly critters. their owners picked them up a week later.
