Making a dog roll over is a fun trick for the whole family, including the dog. Remember, training increases communication between owner and dog, so work hard.
- Your dog should already know how to sit, and lie down. If not, read my other articles on that.
- Get your dog into the laying down position and reward him/her
- Take a treat in your hand and slowly move your hand in a circle around her/his head
- Push your dog onto its side, and roll it over. Reward instantly.
- Make sure your rewards are instant, because the dog must know what the reward is for.
- Repeat saying ROLL OVER in a firm voice and making the hand movement
- Slowly phase out the hand command, so that your dog responds to your voice alone
Tips:
Use small titbits, as to a dog a big treat is the same, little ones often is like money in the bank.
Practise for about 5-10minutes DAILY.
If the dog is getting bored, finish your training session.

Your dog may bite your fingers so be careful.
