How to house a Cayman hermit crab
Hermit crabs drink salt water by dipping their claws in the water and lifting it to their mouth from the hairs on their claws, you can keep a hermit crab in an ordinary fish bowl just fill it with a bit of sand, a few rocks and maybe a plant or 2 to make your crab feel happy as he will explore the tank for hours. To keep a healthy hermit crab you will need to change the format of his bowl once or twice a week to keep him from getting bored and depressed. the best water dishes are clam shells that should be filled with a bit of sea water for the crab to drink, they will eat a bunch of things like algae, dried cereal, hermit crab pet food, and popcorn (one or two pieces as you don't want the salt to dry it out).avoid to big a bowl as a land hermit crab will drown if it can't get out and I would personally hate to think of one of these delicate creatures struggling for life trying to get out. Hermit crabs are social people and will get lonely, get about 2 or 3 of them around the same size so they maintain health and vitality.
