Fiddler Crab

How to take care of a Fiddler crab.

  1. Fiddler crabs live on sand beaches or in mud marshes.
  2. A simple or elaborate one can make a good home for the crab.
  3. You will need to provide a shallow water dish of freshwater for your crabs.
  4. Add enough saltwater to cover the sand.
  5. Feed small amounts of food, and remove and uneaten food everyday.
  6. Feed once every one or two days.
  7. You can keep them as singles or groups.
  8. Fiddler Crabs are not suitable for community fish tanks. In a freshwater aquarium they will only live a month or two.
  9. Change 1/3 of the water once or twice a month.
  10. Fiddler crabs do well at a range of temperatures between about 75-85 F.
  11. They even need land with plenty of fresh air and water.
