- This is a Female Sphynx cat, she is hissing at a dog from the safety of her owners shoulders. This photo is from Wikimedia and is really great for showing the facial distortion of an angry cat. Sphynx cats are also know as Canadian Hairless, so if you guessed that, you would be correct. These cats are not actually bald, they have a thin peach fuzz layer of hair.
- This is a Sugar Glider, a marsupial from Australia recently introduced to the pet market. They are nocturnal animals who need a lot of care, they are not a good beginners pet. The photo is from Wikimedia. If you are considering getting one of these, please do your research on the Internet or get a good book.
- If you thought this was a Chinese Crested dog, you would be correct! They come in two varieties, the other being the powderpuff, which is fully haired. This dogs photo comes to us from Wikimedia. These dogs are noted for often having teeth problems, which often require surgery. Therefor it is very important you get one from a Reputable breeder.
- If you said "Pony" you can get half a point, technically this is an American Sheltland pony. Both the pony and the girl are three years old. Ponies are not young horses, they are horses whose mature size is under 14.2 hands. Each "hand" being 4 inches, or 10 centimeters. The photograph is from Wikimedia. Not every pet here is a house pet.
- This is a cute hatchling corn snake. Snakes are good pets for people with allergies to mammals and birds. This picture is by John Stone, and is from Wikimedia.
- This is a Chinchilla, they are often kept as caged pets, but are mostly are kept and used in the fur industry. They are extremely soft. This photo is from Wikimedia.
- You get no points for saying it is a "bird", half a point if you said it is a Finch, and a full point if you correctly said this is a Gouldian Finch. These birds are often kept as pets because of their smaller size and beautiful colors. The picture is by Leandro Prudencio, and is from Wikimedia.
- This colorful critter is a Tokay Gecko. I guess you can have half a point if you said it is a Gecko. They are a large gecko known for their bite, they tend to hang on for a long time. They should be kept in tanks with lids, as they can climb and will escape. This photograph is from Wikimedia.
