Do something else while you watch television or have an experience in which you wait awhile for a web site to load. When I watch television or wait awhile for a web site to load, I clear my bed, fold clothes, put my watch on, fill out a bank transaction slip or work on a Sudoku puzzle.
Do something useful in the kitchen while cooking. It is a good idea to clean up the kitchen and wash a few dishes while you are cooking. You could also read or do something else you must do while cooking.
Do whatever duties you can while you talk on the telephone. One thing you can do while talking on the telephone is use a computer. If you must talk on the telephone a lot while using a computer, use a telephone headset to have an easier, more productive time typing and prevent the discomfort that can come from holding a telephone to your ear with your shoulder. If you share a telephone and telephone headset with other workers, it would be a good idea to wipe those items with a special type of alcohol that eliminates germs.
If you have an office job, find ways to stay busy. For example, you should resume your computer work or do another task while you print something.
Do something constructive while you are on hold on the telephone. If you are going to call the customer service department for a product or service you use, take your homework, unopened mail or something else important with you so you will have something constructive to do while you wait for a customer service representative to help you.
Do necessary things while you travel. If you are a passenger in a car, bus, train or airplane, you should read or do paperwork or homework. If you drive, you can do some reading or writing while waiting at a red light. If you must talk on the telephone while driving, please use a telephone that is connected to a headset or does not require you to hold it.
Take advantage of the time you spend in the bathroom or restroom. Conduct important telephone business or do your homework or paperwork while you sit on the toilet.
Always think of ways to do many things at once and practice!
