Are you one of those who cannot get organized to save your life? Here are a few tips that might help you keep your appointments and never be late again!
- Make a list. It doesn't have to be a neat well written list, as long as you can read it! Just jot down numbers, appointments onto anything, it doesn't even have to be typed! And if you make your list the night before, you have a less of a chance of forgetting something. You may even sleep better!
- Check it off! After you complete each task, appointment, check it off, just like you do with your grocery list! It makes you feel as if you've achieved something and you can see your progress
- Confirm! Always call and confirm any appointments you may have. There is nothing like a forgetful client to ruin a carefully organized day! If you have an appointment somewhere, confirm that too. Let them know you are to be expected.
- Wall calendars or desk calendars. Let's face it, there are some of us who don't have or use PDA's. A calendar will do just fine! Get the kind with the big squares so you can jot down important appointments and daily tasks. Place it in a central location, where it is visible. You can even get fancy and color code your dates with different sharpies!
- And last but certainly not least, stick to a routine! Yes, routines sometimes put your brain on autopilot, but doing things in the same order each day helps us stay on track
