Five Alternative Uses for a Fishing Tackle Box

Fishing tackle boxes are designed with many small compartments, a tight-fitting lid and a convenient carry handle. The main purpose of a fishing tackle box is to carry fishing tackle, hooks, extra line, sinkers, bobbers and bait.

However, these containers can be useful for people who have never baited a hook or reeled in a catch. This guide covers five alternative uses for a fishing tackle box.

  1. Craft Storage Container

Anyone who enjoys crafts knows that storage can be a problem. Many crafts involve small pieces of things. This is especially true for beaders and jewelry makers, needlework fans, and scrap bookers. A fishing tackle box is a great way to organize your project supplies.
  2. Make Up Case

Although less than elegant, a fishing tackle box can make a wonderful makeup case. The small compartments are perfect for holding tubes of lipstick, pots of foundation and other small cosmetics. If desired, a small mirror can be glued to the inside lid of the fishing tackle box. Large spaces under the small compartments in larger fishing tackle boxes can be used for combs or hair accessories.
  3. Hardware Storage

Every garage or basement seems to hold a vast array of screws, bolts, nuts, and nails. These tiny piece of hardware can be very useful around the house, but only if they can be found when needed. A fishing tackle box can come in handy to categorize them and keep them handy. You will always be able to find the right piece of hardware for any job.
  4. Small Office Organization

Anyone with a home office knows that small desk top items often get lost. If you are the type to never find a paper clip when you need one, you might like to get organized with a fishing tackle box. These containers are perfect for storing small items such as clips, rubber bands, staples, and post-it notes.
  5. Electronics Organizer

The world is full of electronics with power cords and battery needs. Large fishing tackle boxes can help you keep track of which wire goes with what. The small compartments are also useful for storing back up batteries. To store wires for objects, simply paste a label in the bottom of the fishing tackle section and wind the wire up neatly inside.

Fishing tackle boxes are great for storing and organizing many small items. Even if you do not like to fish, you can still use a tackle box.
