The Top Items That Lead You to a Higher Electricity Bill, and How to Reduce Them

Home Heating

To Reduce This:

Turn your thermostat down a bit don't leave it so high that your sweating in the middle of the winter. Also if your cold put and extra sweat-shirt or jacket on so you do not turn the thermostat up so high. Also don't leave appliances on when your no using them, like the computer, televisions, etc.....

Refrigerators

By a new refrigerator. Even though you think im spending rough 600-1000 dollars on the new refrigerator, after 6 months to a year, it will have paid itself off already.

These televisions like the 42 inch ones can use up to 3x as more electricity as the older cathode ray tube televisions.

To Reduce This:

Stick with your older television. Even though you think you need that high fancy pants televisions, just remember how much money your wasting when your using it.

Set-Top Box

The satellite or table converter for you televison uses the same amount of energy as its turned on of it its off.

To Reduce This:

Unplug it when your are not home, or when you know that you will not be watching tv in a while.
