Most people will work hard for their money most of their lives. Unfortunately, quite a few of those people will not become rich because working hard doesn't always guarantee wealth. Sadly, only people at the very top of the corporate ladder such as Brian Williams and the like will ever become truly rich from their hard work. However, there are alternatives to Corporate America. In this article, I will list what these alternatives are.
Invent Something
If you decide to try your hand at being an inventor, your efforts could pay off greatly. Assuming your invention becomes something that everybody wants, you could end up with millions by doing this. An example would be the Swiffer. The Swiffer simplifies the dusting process, which is something everybody needs.
Be sure you place a patent on your invention, or your idea(s) could be taken from you. Legally or illegally. Take Catherine Schwartz for example. Supposedly, she was the inventor of the Swiffer but never received a dime for it. Instead, the company she worked for(Procter & Gamble) used her idea. I bet the company is much richer today. And unfortunately for Catherine, what the company did was completely legal too.
Create a Business
This is similar to inventing a product but just as effective. Of course, the business you create will have to be profitable if you want to make money from it. And running a business can be quite difficult. You may have to deal with people, lawsuits, money problems; etc. But if you have what it takes then running a business may be a perfect fit for you.
Want an example of a successful business? How about Youtube. Chad Hurley, Steve Chen and Jawed Karim were the original creators of this business. And guess what? Google bought their company for $1.65 billion dollars! These three have it made.
Pick a Great Stock
If you enjoy investing in the stock market then you may have a ticket to wealth. Stock companies sometimes enjoy insane amounts of growth, and this growth will be reflected in the stock price. For instance, if you had bought just fifty shares of McDonald's stock in 1965 then that would be worth about $900,000 today. It would have only cost you about $1,125 dollars. That's a pretty good investment, and a great example of how you can become rich via the stock market.
Inherit Money
An obvious way to make some money is to simply inherit it. Anyone who has rich parents or grandparents is probably going to inherit a small fortune when these relatives die. Paris Hilton is a good example. While she's already a very wealthy individual, she'll inherit even more money when her parents and grandparents die.
Winning the Lottery
Another common way to become rich in America is to simply win the lottery. Of course, this is very unlikely to happen to you but you never know. All it takes is a lot of luck and a dollar in most cases. Of course, some people who win the lottery still have problems even though they're rich. Take Jack Whittaker for example.
Jack won $315 million dollars and donated ten percent of it to charities. Unfortunately, Jack was robbed and sued afterwards. He's still rich, but his life is fairly chaotic. So be careful if you win the lottery, you never know who could make your life a living nightmare.
