I recently discovered free food. As a student this is great. I spend most of my time going to school and studying so I don't have time for a full-time job. I did find a job with a community action agency and found out that I can get free food.
All I needed was proof of income proving that I make under 1400 dollars a month, which I easily do. I needed my driver's license, social, and proof of residence. It took fifteen minutes tops. Then they took me to the back where they had all the essentials; canned veggies, frozen meat, milk, various other fruit juices, hamburger helper, cheese and mac. Well, you get the picture. They gave me enough to last out the month without spending a penny on food besides some random cooking ingredients.
Free food is great. So if you are on a tight budget and you obviously need to eat and pay bills without going into debt I would advise to find your nearest community action in your town or city and see if they work the same way. It would be worth finding out. You can save money and get a full belly at the same time!
