Are you living hand-to-mouth, spending all that you receive in income and applying for credit to get even more than you can afford to pay cash for? Do you fail to immediately subtract the amount you've written a check for from your bankbook? Do you reconcile your bank account(s) monthly? If not, you're committing financial suicide (Proverbs 22:7). You're a kamikaze who will inevitably hit a ship and burst into flames. The saddest part is that you'll take prisoners with you, such as your spouse, children, and dependent others.
The bible instructs you to continually know the state of your income versus expenditures (Proverbs 27:23-24). You must keep the amount of your expenses below the amount of your income in order to have financial peace and joy in your life.
People don't like to hear the word "budget." However, when you don't budget the reality is that you inevitably overspend your income and thus get trapped in debt. You must learn to keep your spending under your income in order to grow wealth. Therefore, you must budget and it doesn't matter whether you call it your spending plan or your vision for the future or something else. Your budget designed to make sure that you give a portion of your income, save and invest a portion, and spend an appropriate portion will be a major key to making you financially healthy and keeping you there (Habakkuk 2:2-4).
The road to financial health and wealth is not hard to find or stay on, but it takes diligence to get where God wants you to go. The diligent soul shall be prosperous because God rewards people who diligently seek Him by employing biblical principles to their lives (Luke 14:28-32). May God bless you richly as you follow His plan.
