Money Saving Tips

Easy ways to save your money.

The following tips are some that I personally use to save money. Why waste it if you can save it. I would like to share so that if others haven't thought of it they can start putting change away.

  1. Use Plastic Containers Instead of Plastic Bags

  2. Use for food rather than buying plastic bags and disposing of them constantly.

  3. Avoid ATMs

  4. Unless you absolutely need cash, it is so easy to spend dollars and change in your pocket when if fact it can add up if you don't have it on hand.

  5. Use Rechargeable Batteries

  6. They are the best thing in my opinion; you can save money and gas for trips to the store to buy things that can be reused.

  7. Pay Bills Online

  8. If you feel comfortable doing this with your bank it can save 41 cents for every bill lets say you pay out 5 bills a month that's $2.05 a month and $24.60 a year. It's not a huge amount, just another way to save a dime or two.

  9. Get Organized

  10. If you are organized it is easy to locate the items that you need to use whether it is food or supplies like pens and pencils. It is so easy to think you need an item because you can't find it so you run out and buy it.

  11. Choose Fluorescent Over Incandescent

  12. Fluorescent bulbs save money, you may think well they are more expensive or they don't have a pleasing glow to them, well they last longer and cost less money to use. I personally have a couple and they work fine, look good and save money. It's just another option to save.

  13. Avoid Fast Food

  14. This is a hard one and I am guilty of it as well. Not only will your wallet benefit but your health too. I noticed after looking of receipts too much money went to buying food because of being out for the day. Try to eat before you go, or bring snacks. This stuff adds up and really sneaks up on you.

  15. Use Less

  16. I find myself not considering the small things. How many of us use too much of something, dish liquid for example. I find that a little goes a long way and it is almost too easy to use more than you need. If you save a little bit every time it can last twice as long.

  17. Save on Gas

  18. Since gas prices have soared above and beyond a reasonable amount I have made less trips then I used to. If you think about it, how easy is it to just say “oh I need something from the store” and take off here and there. Try to make shopping trips at once all together. Do it weekly if need be but it will be less than you would normally unless of course you need to make an emergency trip for cold medicine that you don't normally keep on hand, (maybe keeping some on hand wouldn't be so bad either just in case).

  19. Buy for Quality

  20. In my experience I have wasted more money replacing products in my home like vacuum cleaners, yes I try to repair them before disposing of them but sometimes you can only do so much. If you have the money, buy quality that will last and shop around for the best price. If you don't have the money on hand try saving up who knows maybe everything you saved from up above can help out with this type of purchase.

After buying quality you can keep more money in your pocket instead of spending it on replacements.
