Money Management Tools To Control Your Finances

Looking after your money is very important task otherwise you risk ending in the middle of the streets. See inside which tools can control how much you spend.

Money is the most important subject in these days. You can't spend one single day without money. With a lot of money you are a king and without money you die. Managing money just with your head is like shooting something with your eyes shut, soon or later you will shoot your head.

These are the best tools I found on the web to help you to look your money with different eyes:

  1. Microsoft Money

By far the best and the most powerful money management software. This mighty titan can take care of your money all by itself with automatic payments, automatic withdraws, can help you invest your money wisely and can help you preparing your retirement. A feature I like very much is the bill reminder so I am aware all the time of the amount of money I must have ready for day x or day y. Microsoft Money works with almost any bank in the United States. This means you can manage your bank account using just Microsoft Money. It's interesting to see that Microsoft included some powerful Internet features in Money. You can surf the web with Money just like you would do with any other browser. By default Money shows you the latest news on the markets, currencies and much more. The disadvantage of this tool is that you will need to spend a lot of time learning how it works. Download the free trial and see what it can do for you.
  2. Manage ME

The Manage Me tool is still in beta and you can't register yet. However you can request to be invitated to try the beta. The advantages os this program told on the official website are: Free to use, you don't need to spend a cent to use it; Customization of expenses by headers to diferentiate the expenses; Costumized reports to manage the money more inteligently; Costumized reminders and alerts; Secure password protected online account.
  3. Debt Payment PRO

This free online tool will help you to pay all your debts inteligently using their expertise. They claim they save on average +$12k per user. This tools helps me to manage the bills I must pay, it helps me to see when the debt will be 100% paid and the amount of interest I will pay aside from the initial amount. Very useful.
  4. Budget Planner

This awesome website taught me how to plan my very own budget so I can live my income to the fullest. It helped me to calculate the amount of money I will need to pay taxes, the amount of money I should save every single month, the amount of money I should spend on food and clothes, the amount of money I should spend on entartainement and the income I need to live the budget I want. I love this tool. One single page tells so much about your money flow! When you click the "see as a graph" button you can see even better where your money is going!

Now managing our pocket is not so dificult. When you see the numbers on the paper it becomes easier to manage any pocket. Now when you see the numbers on the screen it's even easier to see where all the money is going and and you can do to have more at the end of the month.

Good luck managing your finances and on your way to financial independen

Dear Redburn,

What you say about MS Money is true. It is very complicated and takes a very long time to learn and also to operate. I use it only for my share portfolio.

I liked what you said about Budget Planner and I'm going to look into it.

Thank you,

Fernando Monteiro
