Money Management Principles

An average man built great wealth using simple timeless principles.

Many times we wonder whether or not we'll get results if we follow the teachings of teachers and writers with best selling books who suggest they know success principles. Success should show itself in the life of the writer and those who consistently follow the principles with great longevity. In many instances, the success will show little by little until 15 to 20 years later the person has achieved better than average position in life and wealth.

There is a story of one such person who has been following the principles of God as taught through MoneyWalk and its associated training manuals. In 12 short years, he has become totally debt free and gone from a negative net worth of $35,000 with total debt instruments of about $125,000 to a net worth approaching one million dollars when considering his investments, home equity, pension valuation, social security valuation, and other savings. At this point, he hasn't invested in anything more risky than stock mutual funds. But his situation gives him opportunities to do so in the future without losing sleep over fluctuating short-term returns.

He has only recently been promoted to a six-figure household income and this has come about because he and his spouse have been careful to take off the negative complaining mind of the world toward employers and work and put on the grateful mind of Christ that causes him to work as unto the Lord in all his endeavors. His success is even more amazing in that he has worshiped Jesus Christ by abundantly giving almost 30% of his gross household income to ministry work of worldwide and community evangelism, disciple making, and caring for the poor, orphans, widows, and oppressed.

What an awesome testimony God has given this man as a result of his willingness to follow the simple plan of God:

  1. Repenting of sin and committing his life to Jesus Christ as His Savior and Lord;
  2. Setting aside daily times of scripture reading, prayer, and worship as well as spontaneous outbursts of devotion to God and His will.
  3. Physically serving in a local church that teaches its members scriptural standards for everyday living and decision-making.
  4. Ministering to the needs of believers and unbelievers outside the church;
  5. Recognizing that God owns everything and he is only a manager of God's resources;
  6. Using current possession (income, resources, real estate, assets, investments, etc.) for biblically identified godly purposes;
  7. Tithing;
  8. Offering;
  9. Sacrificial Giving;
  10. Budgeting income and expenses;
  11. Eliminating debt to ultimately live debt-free; and
  12. Building savings for emergencies, known irregular expenses, prudent investments, and future instances of giving to meet needs.

You too can have this kind of future and greater. The sooner you start employing God's principles the sooner godly success will permeate your life to allow your blessing to overflow into the lives others.
