Economy Growing Slowly

There are simple things people can do in order to avoid recession.

Twelve Federal Districts reported growth during the time between mid-November through December, but at a slower pace than usual during the holiday season. Even though it was a slow season, there was profit made. Foreigners flocked to the United States to take advantage of the weak American dollar.

The economy is showing that consumers are being wiser with their spending. People are no longer spending outside of their budget and perhaps being more practical in their spending.

Nearly everyone in the United States is worried about the plunging economy and what affect that will have on them. Wall Street is being threatened with recession and people are worried that we might be headed for another Great Depression.

There are steps that people can take in order to slow the possible recession. They are easy to do and it might take some doing, but in the end it could save our country from the looming recession. The steps are:

  • Make a List of Bills

Do the math and see what your monthly income is. Do they add up? Is there anything that you have that you could get cheaper or do without?
  • Look at Store Brands Instead of Brand Name Items

    Expensive doesn't mean quality.
  • Don't Try to Compete with the Family That Has More than You

It does not matter how fast you live it, but how you live it period. Life is a gift from God and what you do with it is your gift back to God.
  • Get Clothes from Thrift Stores like the Salvation Army

You get the best of two worlds, you get clothes and help the Salvation Army carry on the good work that they do at the same time. No one but you will know it is not brand new. You can get some brand name clothes for a little bit of nothing.
  • Grab a Catalog

Pick out everything you like or could see yourself using. Picture you wearing it or using it. Close catalog and throw it in garbage. You do not really want the item; you want the thrill that comes from having the item. Later on when the price goes down you can buy it, but for the time being wait.
  • Once a Product First Hits the Market, It is Usually Expensive

... but then other companies come up with similar products and they drive the price of the original product down. So, do not go out and buy a product when it first gets released, wait a month or more and you will save a great deal of money.
  • If You're a Christian, Make Tithing a Priority

Do not make the mistake of saying you do not have enough to tithe and pay bills. If you give the Lord his part, you will be blessed in so many ways. Christians who give a tithe have reported that their finances improved once they put the Lord first when deciding where to place their money every month.
  • Life Is Not a Race

You do not have to be a slave to money, you can be independent of money, and not everything cost a great deal of money. The best things in life truly are free.
