Conserving money may not be as hard as you think. In today's deflating economy it is highly important to conserve funds, also establishing additional sources of income is of great value as well. These days, it is almost impossible to depend upon once source of income, this goes for couples as well.
Food and Shopping
You would be surprised how much money you can save by faithfully packing your own lunch everyday of the week if you work outside your home. Ordering out at $10 per day equals $50 per week, breaking the bank at $200 per month. You could put $100 towards groceries and the other $100 towards another bill or stash it in the savings.
Clipping coupons before that trip to the grocery store is a great way to keep track of your money, saving an extra $5 - $20 each grocery trip has never hurt a soul, also be sure to shop at grocery stores offering bonus cards, you then have another opportunity to knock $5-$10 off at the check out counter.
Saving on Gas
Refill your gas tank once it drops to 1/2 tank, never let the needle drop completely on "E" since you'll spend more money to fill it up. If at all possible, join a carpool a few times per week and do an online search of gas stations to compare rates and find the cheapest station in your area. Driving a few miles out of the way is definitely worth it to save at the gas pumps.
Spare Change
Ladies, do you have an accumulation of quarters, dimes, nickels or even pennies at the bottom of your purse that isn't working for you? If so, take that extra change to Coinstar or your local bank to cash in. Quarters add up so quickly, one could easily scrounge $50 up, that is an extra $50 for gas, savings account or a bill.
Cable Rates
If you live in a single family home, ditch your cable and acquire a satellite dish service where you are able to pick movie channels for reasonable rates. Cable rates have skyrocketed these past few years, charging $80-$85 per month for basic cable.
