10 Traits of a Leader of Opportunity

Some people are born to be employees for life. Others are destined to create new opportunities through entrepreneurship.

Most people growing up thinking that straight A's in school a degree are prerequisites to a great job. This job is to bless you with wealth, time for leisure, a secure retirement and the power to make dreams come true. This tell tale, or bad advise if you will, works because the average Joe is a follower. Followers are great people to hire because they will dedicate their lives to your (anyone but their own) dreams.

It's amazing that a person will spend ten years in school just to have to be trained once they get a job and collect sub standard pay- which is used to pay often years of school. Why not spend six years learning how to control your time, energy and money. People feel perfectly comfortable working eight to twelve hours a day for someone else's wealth but won't spend eight hours a week on their own dreams and aspirations.

Well for those of you that believe there's more to life than following the rest of the cattle into retirement here is a short list of attributes, a self- starting, leader possess. If you hate your job and have great ideas but don't have any of the following in you somewhere, you're better off clocking in and collecting your scraps.

  1. "I'm going to get a LLC, don't know why yet, but I'm getting it now."
  2. "I'm going to place ads everywhere and get a web site and business cards. I'll outsource anything I can't handle to a freelancer."
  3. "I have a job to pay bills, now is a good time to promote my project and set up shop. "
  4. You ask yourself, "how do I want to pay for this?" Instead of "this is too expensive, I can't get it."
  5. I'm going out of town, better call and see what network events are happening." Or, "I wonder what I can set up when I get there."
  6. "I'm going to borrow money from the bank every three months an pay it back without spending it."
  7. "I believe in using other people's (resources) money for investments and using those investments to build wealth."
  8. Real estate is for those who need a job. Investing in property is for those creating wealth.
  9. Business credit is the best personal cash flow.
  10. When you feel you need a second job- you're not doing enough.
