Energy prices are going up. Food prices are going up. Everything is going up in price, but you need to keep costs down. You need some simple ways to lower to costs at home to offset those high gas prices.

- Turn them off if you are not using them.
- Install a timer for the bathroom fan. Many times you turn the fan on and forget about it after a shower or other business.

- Showers use less water than baths.

- Heating and Air conditioning
- Utilize fans during the summer and winter.
- Adjust thermostat before you leave for a prolonged time from your home.
- In the winter turn the heat down at night when you go to bed, and use space heaters in the bedrooms. No need to heat the whole house while you sleep.
- Maintenance
- Change the air filter regularly. A clogged filter will make the HVAC fan work really hard.
- Clean outside coils of your air conditioner once a year with water and light plastic brush. Do not bend the fins.
