Give Your Flower Pot a Base Color to Build on
To paint your flower pot to match the décor of any room, sand away any rough spots using 100 grit sand paper. Once you have a nice smooth surface, apply several coats of spray acrylic sealer to the inside of the pot, allowing each coat to dry before applying the next one. Do this only if you don't plan on placing a plant in the pot. To paint the outside, base color, apply two coats of acrylic paint with a soft brush from your craft store.
