Just some odds and ends that will hopefully make life a little more joyful.
When I buy fresh herbs like cilantro or parsley, I put it into glasses or small vases with
fresh water on my windowsill so I can take in their natural beauty, aroma, and freshness. It's also easy access for cooking! I just lean over and grab a few leaves.
Instead of buying expensive sprouts, I make my own spicy sprouts with radish seeds
that I start in a wet paper towels. In just three days I have enough sprouts for a sandwich.
To prevent mushrooms from getting slimy, I put them in a brown paper bag into the fridge.
To keep stress levels down, I walk my dog before the rest of the house gets up in the
morning, and don't watch the morning news until the house is empty.
To keep flies away from food when outside in the summer, I place mint gum near my
plates of food. (Flies hate mint!)
When I prepare just about any meat or veggies, I throw the fat, rinds, bones, etc., into
a stock pot and make stock. After I make it, I cool it, then throw the broth into ice cube trays for later use. (I do strain out all the excess stuff and only use the broth)
To remove lipstick stains from clothing I use hair spray and rub bar soap all over the
well saturated hairsprayed area. Works like a charm.
To keep my spending in check when shopping, I only bring cash.
To keep my weight down, I don't eat after 6 PM.
To keep my breath fresh and teeth white, I use baking soda to brush my teeth every
few hours. Just sprinkle a little bit on a moist tooth brush.
