20 Uses for Common Household Items

Here are some uses for common household items.

  1. Make your own Febreze by filling up a spray bottle with warm water, and adding a couple sheets of fabric softener. Let it sit in the sun on the window sill, shake up and spray.
  2. Build a fire with a 9 volt battery and steel wool by rubbing the connector end on the wool.
  3. Use a sheet of paper as a mouse pad to get a smoother cursor movement.
  4. Remove scratches on CD and DVD with toothpaste, or metal polish liquid.
  5. Deodorize your garbage disposable with orange, lemon, lime, and grapefruit peels.
  6. Clean your microwave by placing a bowl of water, cook it for about 5 minutes, let it sits for a while, then wipe off. You can also add some lemon or orange piece for freshness.
  7. Relief painful bee stings, after removing the stinger, by cover the area with a dap of mustard.
  8. Use vinegar or apple cider vinegar, or toothpaste on all over sunburn for relieve.
  9. Dapping nail polish removal, perfume, vodka, toothpaste, vinegar, baking soda or hydrogen peroxide on the “tingling” area of cold sore as soon as you feel it.
  10. Shine your shoes with Pledge, or vegetable oil.
  11. Use shaving cream to remove stains and grime in kitchen and bathroom tiles.
  12. Spray cooking oil on your car headlights to avoid squashed bugs.
  13. Remove old stickers mark by spreading Mayonnaise on it, leave it on for an hour, and remove with plastic scraper.
  14. WD-40 removes scuff marks from ceramic floor.
  15. Remove crayon marks with a piece of bread.
  16. Absorb oil, paint, and gasoline with cat litter.
  17. Rub a bar of soap over the mosquito bite to stop the itch.
  18. Kill weed by spraying vinegar directly on it.
  19. Put coffee filter inside the pot before filling in the potting soil for drainage.
  20. Use rubber band as a book mark.
