Handy Household Hints Every Householder Should Know: - When you sew, the thread wont tangle as easily if you knot both ends separately.
- If your child must take a bad tasting medicine, put an ice cube on his tongue for a few seconds to deaden the taste buds.
- If you must take a splinter out of a child's finger, hold an ice cube on it for a few seconds to deaden it.
- Apply a slice of onion to a bee sting to stop the swelling.
- If you have a dog, vacuum him often and you won't have to vacuum the house as much.
- When your hands are stained from gardening, add a heaping spoon of sugar to soapy water you wash them in.
- Tooth paste is good for cleaning your jewelry.
- Your bed linins will always smell good if you store your soap with them.
- You can always find your car in a crowded parking lot if you tie a brightly colored scarf to the top of the aerial.
- If your quilt or sheet is to short, sew a couple of feet of sateen to the bottom of it.
- If your oven catches fire throw in some soda. It will dowse the fire.
- If your dark wood furniture gets scratched, rub a walnut meat over it. It will restore the color.
- You can remove candle wax from wood with lighter fluid and a soft cloth.
- If you tip your clothes hangers sharply up at the ends, your nities, slips and dresses won't slide off.
- Add a little oil to your cooking water when you boil spaghetti or macaroni and it won't be so quick to boil over.
- Your sewing will never rust if you keep them stuck in a bar of soap in your sewing box.
