Dental floss isn't just for cleaning teeth, it has lots of other household uses.
Cut a crumbly cake.
Cut a sponge cake in half ready for filling with dental floss. It gives a good clean cut right the way through
Slice dough and cut cheese.
Use for slicing dough when making cookies, or to cut cheese.
Repair shoes and bags.
Dental floss is strong enough to repair ballet shoes and bags. It's much stronger than ordinary thread. Also good for making sure that buttons stay on (oversew with floss).
Lift cookies off the baking tray.
Floss can be used to remove cookies, cakes, etc from a baking tray. Just hold tight at both ends and slide underneath.
Repair outdoor gear.
If yu need to repair waterproof outdor gear, camping gear, etc use dental floss as it is stronger than any kind of thread you can buy and it's waterproof.
Emergency clothesline.
Use it to make a clothesline while on vacation, or campinng. Use a double strand to make it firmer. This is very strong and cheap.
Tie up garden plants.
Tie garden plants up with it. It's neat, strong and waterprooft. The minty kind is best for this as it's green.
DIY Helper.
DIYers can use floss in place of washers and to make an extra tight joint when screwing metal sections together. It's strong, pliable and waterproof.
Fix frayed cords.
If you have frayed dressing gown cords, or curtain tiebacks that are starting to unravel at the ends, wind dental floss around the ends.to neaten it.
Clean tools.
Use the thin kind of floss to clean tools in the workshop. It will let you get into all those gaps.
Make garlands.
Great for stringing a popcorn necklace or garland for the holidays as it's must stronger and more hygenic than sewing thread.
Fix your hair.
Tie your hair back with dental floss if you don't have an elastic band.
