The 3 main ways of reducing our rubbish is buying environmentally packaged products start a compost heap and recycle everything that can be recycled. All the people in New Zealand throw away 3.6million tonnes of rubbish in a year! And that is about 1000 bus full a day! It's easy to recycle, so why don't we?
Buying environmental packaged products.
One of the simplest thing when going shopping for environmental packaged products is take a cotton bag instead of using non-biodegradable plastic bags. Take a cardboard box because they can be used over and over again and are great for fruit and vegetables. Don't buy chip packets with individual packaging, buy a large one and divide the contents. Buy stuff that doesn't need packaging. You could buy rechargeable batteries to save buying new ones. Another good one if make your own bread and food that way there is no packaging used. Buy one water bottle and keep refilling it. All this will cost u less and it is better for the environment.
Recycle everything that can be recycled
Recycle anything that can be recycled. You can recycle glass, paper, tin, plastics and many others. When recycling glass and plastic clean it out and put it in the recycling bin. You can recycle almost anything, from clothes to paint.
Start a compost heap
Starting a compost heap is one of the easiest ways to reduce your rubbish. Simply find a large container a put all your leftover scraps of food. This helps the environment as well as saving you money when buying soil for your garden. When you have a compost heap you practically have a free soil source. If you don't have a place to put your compost heap then maybe give it to your next door neighbor.
All these ways will help reduce the waste we produce and will also save money. So do these things today and help the environment.
