It was December now and we were moving into our new house. It had been a hard long wait but we were finally going home after living in a hotel for six weeks. It was December the fourth when just the two of us started moving things in. It was cold and snow was on the ground but it didn't matter we were to excited to wait. It was just tonight that we got the keys so we wanted to try and get some of our things in. Before long we had to stop for the night by now it was after midnight and we were getting tired. As we locked the doors and made a bed for the night we heard a noise above us. We was not sure at first what it was so we followed the noise witch led us upstairs to one of the bed rooms. Unsure what we was going to find we opened the closet door in the room our daughters would be sharing. There was nothing there but the noise grew louder, and that's when we noticed another door inside the closet.
It was an access panel to what some would call the attic area. We removed the door and there they were, three raccoons playing and running around and trying to stay warm to I guess. As they noticed us they didn't seem scared and they actually started towards us I guess they were wondering why we were in there home. Although they were very cute we wanted them out of the house. We were afraid they would tear things up in the walls or get in the house somehow, or even be nesting to have babies. The next day we set a trap, one that would not hurt them but safely catch them so we could set them free in the woods somewhere. So one by one we finally got all three of them and set them free in the woods where they would be happy.
A couple days went by and the noise came back along with another raccoon. Once again we did the same thing, Caught it and set it free in the woods. We are now on our third month in our new home and are still having our raccoon visitors. One just don't seem to want to leave. He gets his meal out of the trap but never gets caught. So if one cold night you are hearing noises in your attic don't be to alarmed its probably just a little friend were learning to get used to.
