Five Unusual Lemon Uses

Perhaps you have found yourself with an overabundance of lemons. Maybe you are looking for a cheap way to be eco-friendly. Either way, this article can help you.

  1. Odor Neutralizer: Place a few lemon slices in a pan of boiling water this will help neutralize odors around the house.
  2. Liver Spot Remover: Lemon juice gradually bleaches the skin. Using a cotton ball dab lemon juice over freckles, age and liver spots to fade them. Make sure to moisturize afterward though as the juice will also dry out your skin.
  3. Light Hold Hair Spray: Dilute the juice of one lemon with one cup of water, strain and pour into a pump spray bottle. Keep in mind that this has the same bleaching and drying properties on your hair as it does on your skin.
  4. Sweat Stain Remover: Lemon juice can be used as a milder and less toxic bleach and it has de-greasing properties. Just spritz or dab some on the sweat stain and wash as normal. (I do not recommend using with bright or dark colors.)
  5. Garbage Disposal Freshener: Drop a few slices of lemon in garbage disposal every time you use it to dispel odors. (Use hot water while grinding lemons to get the full effect.)
