Candles are always nice to have around, sometimes they can help out in an emergency, whether giving as a last, minute, gift or needing light when the electricity goes out.
- In an emergency power outage you have lights (if you have aluminium foil you can twist up a candle carrier, around it so that you can move around without the candle being blown out).
- Ambient lighting experience, few things set the mood like the soft glow of candlelight.
- An excellent focal point for meditation is the flame of a candle. Staring at a candle flame, for a moment will help a person get into a meditative state very quickly.
- Pressing pretty flowers or herbs into a pillar candle makes for an easy, handmade gift.
- Scented candles leave a nice aroma in the air even while not burning
- Some candles make very pretty room accents that look good in any room of the house. They also add a nice touch to a table centrepiece.
- Rubbing some candle wax on a zipper will help keep it from sticking.
- You can use melted candle wax and a stamp to create a unique seal on invitation envelopes.
- Melted leftover wax can be flattened and rolled around a new wick to make a new candle, or rolled into wax, scent beads and mixed into a potpourri.
- Lighting a candle on a dark, chilly night, seems to make a person feel warm all over.
There are so many uses for candles, they don't go stale or rotten so you can keep them a very long time without having to use them. At some point, everybody needs a little light in their lives. Keep them handy, burn one when you need to relax, give one to somebody who needs one.
Never leave a candle burning unattended. Be very cautious burning candles with pets or small children present.
