Tips for Using Oil Based Paints

Many people would like to use Oil Based Paints but can't because they smell bad. I have a solution that really works. Perfume! No more tears from Oil Paints.

Personally I hate the smell of Oil Based Paints. They nearly drive me crazy. I get dizzy and can't use them, but if you have good lungs, and can't stand the smell of Oil Based Paints, here's a small trick that really works.

Go to any Pharmacy, to the Cosmetics section and ask for Oil Based Perfume. This Perfume usually comes in 2oz bottles, so for one gallon of Oil Paint, pour three to four of these Oil Based Perfumes in the Oil Paint, stir thoroughly, mixing the Perfume into the Oil Paint and apply the Oil paint as you would any other type of paint.

You will be amazed. The Oil Paint will now smell like the Perfume in the bottle that you poured into your Oil Paint. I wouldn't exceed 4 two oz bottles, but that should be enough Perfume in a gallon of paint, as I am basing my gallon size according to the Canadian Gallon, which is a quarter size bigger than the American Gallon.

Happy Oil Painting.
