The Power of Pink

Pink is considered a soft color but it can make a large impact in a room. It is a positive color to incorporate into your wardrobe. Take a serious look at the benefits of adding the color pink to your life.

In a random, informal questioning of a general population you will repeatedly hear certain words associated with the color pink . Pink is often described as being soft, romantic, and feminine.

The color of the clothes you wear can reflect or affect your mood. Color therapist encourage people to wear pink when they want to feel a connection with their own heart. Wearing pink tends to bring out the softer side of your personality. When you wear pink people perceive you to be compassionate. They see you as a person who is willing to open their heart to others.

Some people believe that wearing pink jewelry helps soothe anger and heal emotional pain. A rose quartz necklace, pink sapphire bracelet, or pink cubic zirconia ring is believed by some to help keep you calm throughout the day. If you find it difficult to believe in the calming, healing power of pink stones you can wear them simply for their beauty. People who come in contact with you may focus on the pink you are wearing and benefit from its soothing power.

When used as part of a decorating scheme, pink makes a room feel relaxing. It also increases communication and encourages people to be more open with their feelings. Pink is considered to be a romantic color. It does not ignite passion as the color red does but instead offers a more subdued sense of romance.

Pink doesn’t have to be the dominate color in a room in order to reap the positive benefits of its power. You can incorporate pink into a room through artwork or accent pillows. Placing a pink candle on a table or a glass jar filled with pink stones adds a touch of softness to a room. Of course a vase of pink flowers such as roses or hydrangeas adds a subtle yet noticeable beauty to a room.

Since the word pink came into being as a description of a flower it only seems appropriate to utilize its power in association with flowers. A vase of pink flowers sitting on a table in any room makes the room feel warm and inviting. A bud vase with a single rose or carnation sitting on your desk can make you feel more pleasant throughout the day. It can also make others approach you in a more compassionate manner.

If you ponder the color pink in relation to the five senses a theme of softness emerges. Pink is visually comforting. It makes you feel romantic, compassionate, and calm. Pink is a warm color. It’s warmth is similar to the feel of winter sunshine. Pink flowers such as carnations, roses, and dianthus add a fragrant aroma to a room or to your garden. When you think of pink in relation to food it still tends to represent softness. A plate filled with slices of pink tomatoes seems subtle and soft compared to a plate filled with sliced red tomatoes. For serving at a romantic dinner, pink tomatoes would work best.

Pink has the power to revive childhood memories for some. Pink is the most common color of cotton candy. Childhood memories of eating that soft, pink, fluffy confection at a local fair or at the circus can instantly bring a smile to your face. Pink is also a common color for bubble gum. Almost everyone has, at one time, put that oversized piece of pink bubble gum in their mouth and create a soft, delicate bubble that they hope wouldn’t burst on their face. Memories like those have to make you smile.

One final observation concerning the color pink involves its use in advertising. Look through some magazines and you will find that the color pink is often used in advertisements where they want to attract the attention of women. Pink is used to target little girls, teenage girls, and adult women. Sometimes the advertisers use pink as a background color or as the color of lettering in their advertisement.

Sometimes the product itself is pink such as toys and clothes for little girls. For teenagers advertisers often use bright pink as an eye catcher. Products in pink for teenage girls range from electronic items to pillows to decorate their room.

Advertisements for women often include pink in the packaging of the product or include a model wearing pink or using something pink. Garden magazines and decorating magazines incorporate pink into the designs they want to portray as romantic settings.

Pink may be a subtle color compared to a bold red or orange but it certainly has power. It has the power to bring an instant calm to a stressful situation. It makes a room more cozy and inviting. It encourages people to act and react in a gentle manner. Perhaps everyone can benefit from displaying the color pink in some area or aspect of their life. To make such a memorable impression, pink has to be powerful.
