Living on a budget does not mean that we can't have our dream room. Here are some useful, cheap and simple to do ideas to bring new life to a room.
PAINT

Choose wisely a colour that you like and that will coordinate with the environment. If you are considering painting your kitchen, take a look around and see what else you can paint, the kitchen cabinets, chairs, table, counter tops, this does not mean that you paint it all in one colour, you can have it a variety of shades.
FABRIC
Try not to choose a light colour for your throw pillows or sofa especially if there are going to be children and pets around. Preferably, choose a fabric with prints, in case of accidents then the stain will not be so obvious.
RUGS or CARPETS or LINOLEUM FLOORING

It is cheaper to get rugs and carpets on the floor then redoing the entire floor. Another good option is to purchase vinyl covering for the floor. This comes in many designs, functions and colours.
PAINTINGS or PHOTOGRAPHS
Be it small or large, paintings and photographs brightens the room and does not occupy floor space. Photographs of yourself and your family will make the room very cosy as well as being a show piece when you have company.
MIRRORS
If you have a small space, you may want to consider putting mirrors on one entire wall of that room to give it an illusion of space. Or use an ornate frame for a mirror so that the mirror becomes functional as well as a beautiful ornament.
LIGHTING

Changing the lighting in the room will produce a different atmosphere. Using floor lamps or a dim down light will create a cosy impression. The use of chandeliers gives the room a magical sentiment.
GARAGE SALE
These days, people are selling lots of stuff and some of these things are still in very good condition. You just have to go some of these garage sales and you may be able to pick up a good buy for a fantastic discount.
FRIENDS AND FAMILY
Let your friends and family know which room you are making over, and someone may have something they can pass over to you. What's more, these friends and family members can also help you with your little project and save you a bundle instead of hiring help to move furniture around.
DIY
You will really cut cost if you can do it yourself. If you do not have time constraint, then by all means. But if you are limited by ability, get help. Friends, family and neighbours are always more than willing to help out. All you have to do is ask.
Have a great time in your wonderful new room.
