Don't forget about stamping borders around the top of your walls. This can add an interesting country touch to a home and will add additional warmth and interest. Here's how to stamp on walls:
Gather your supplies
Visit your local craft store and discover the wide range of rubber stamps in all sizes you can use for stamping on walls. Before you make your selection, flip through a few design magazines to get an idea of what color and designs would go best in the particular room you plan to stamp. Once you have a design in mind, purchase your rubber stamps along with a paint that's appropriate for stamping on walls. There are a variety of paints, glazes, and permanent inks that will work for wall stamping. You'll also need a paint roller to apply the paint to the rubber stamp, a ruler, and a piece of clear glass.
Practice stamping before stamping on your walls
It's important to get the feel for stamping before stamping on your walls. A good way to practice is to use a piece of white foam board to stamp. Pour your paint onto a piece of clear glass. Roll your paint roller over the glass and then onto your rubber stamp so you're your rubber stamp is covered with a light coat of your chosen paint. Practice pressing down on the foam board with the rubber stamp to imprint a design. Apply your paint to the rubber stamp using the technique you used to stamp your foam board. Stamp your first design and then use a ruler to determine where to place your next imprint. Continue in this manner until your wall is covered or you've created your border. If you make a mistake you can use an all purpose cleaner and a sponge to immediately remove the paint. Once the paint is dry, use a q-tip to touch up any areas with paint that could use some additional refinement.
