How to Make Your Home More Enjoyable and Inviting

Here are friendly little tips on making your home feel like a home. You do not have to have a hollywood mansion to be content.

I often wonder how so many people feel about their own home.I am definitely not in a hollywood mansion but there are times i feel i make do with what i have.Here are some tips to brighten up your home and to make it more inviting...

  1. light candles with scents,especially ones that appeal to you
  2. open the blinds ,let some sun in
  3. if you have rugs a quick vacum always does the trick
  4. furniture does not have to always be brand new,just move some of the clutter away...big difference
  5. if you celabrate the holidays be very festive,enjoy decorating,it is very appealing to others
  6. cook dinners with great aromas,spice up your life(smells of foods are invigorating)
  7. rearrange some stuff around
  8. find a spot for a nice size mirror,it always gives off that the room is larger
  9. curb appeal is nice as well,keep trash and clutter away from the view of your home
  10. use color tones that feel warm,inviting,it makes a home more cozy,if you like bright colors use that for a show room

Hopefully these tips are useful and make a difference in how you feel about your home,you do not have to be rich for others including yourself to enjoy your home as long as you keep it tidy these tips shall work!

Great info, I do a lot of the things you mentioned. There is nothing like light and aroma from candles in your house. So inviting!

I do agree with everything you had written, but may I add one more? Art or art that kids may have done, even crayon stuff. You know if you put a crayon drawing in a frame under glass it ends up flattering the wall and making it seem more homey, family friendly so to speak. Terrific and clear write my friend. Michael

I rearrange and light candles all the time. Sometimes I just get bored. I have to experience everything new all the time.

Good tips. Change is always good in a home it changes your mood. You don't have to spend a fortune to make your home inviting some of what you said and a fresh new paint color and some new throw pillows always do the trick makes you feel good.
