What is the best way to market your home-based business with one hour each day? Let me introduce you to my secret method.
Three Things to Do Every Week
For any business, home-based or otherwise, you will have to operate it, get customers, and keep customers. It is that simple. We will look at my personal method for splitting up my seven-hour week (remember, one hour a day) based on the three things that need to be done every single week.
Getting Customers: Two Hours
Getting, and keeping, a customer will surpass the cost of getting that customer, including operating costs like toll-free phone numbers, letterhead, business cards, etc. To prospect for customers, the best way to spend a limited amount of time is a combination of business card flyers and a website. Even if you are not a web guru, you can easily get a website for a very affordable price. Best of all, it can be built as a one-page newsletter only site. Whatever it is, it can only increase your chances of people knowing about your product or service. And it's a really great idea to include your website on your business card. Once you get a website, it's yours. Spend two days specifically toward passing out your business card flyers.
Keeping Customers: Three Hours
Keeping the customer can be accomplished on and off the world wide web as well. A newsletter mailer with updates on your service or product or an online newsletter or press release can drive people directly to your website. A website gives people the freedom to review your information at their leisure and not feel pressured by a sales pitch. The key is getting qualified traffic to your website (in other words, getting people there who want what you have to sell). Spend one hour creating a written communication, another hour mailing it, handing it out, or uploading it onto your website or social websites.
Administrative: Two Hours
Invoicing, answering inquiries, looking into issues, and ordering more business cards, letterhead, etc.. This should be a weekly occurrence-or more frequent if your business is operated completely online. Spend an hour specifically answering inquiries, and an hour for the rest.
