One of which is the “goo” they secrete all over their leaves to catch, subdue, and devour their unfortunate prey. This goo also reflects light, giving them the nickname Sun (for the reflection)dew (for the dew like goo secretions).
Soil:
Generally, 2:1 ratio of peat and sand is accepted. Some species require more sand, others less. And yet others like some sphagnum moss thrown in! In general, if your not sure, got for the 2:1
Watering:
Keep the soil damp but not water logged for many (85%) of the species.
Light:
Medium to medium strong depending on the hardiness of the plant.
Environment:
Since Drosera are found literally world wide, there's no such thing as just 1 specific environment. The environments range from tropical rain forest to near desert! To get the widest range possible try and have the temperature between 70 and 85, with bright light, and 40%-60% humidity.
Cultivation:
Most drosera are easy-medium to grow. There are exceptions, however. As a rule, your Drosera is happy if they are producing dew.
