Rock Gardens

Yes, you can "grow|" a beautiful garden without growing a lot of plants.

Rock gardens, as the name indicates, generally contain rocks and stones arranged on the ground. Different types of stones are either arranged in a particular fashion or just arranged as a texture on the ground. The plants that are built into these gardens are just those which grow along side rocks or rocky mountains. These plants are often small and so make the appearance of the rock gardens small.

Also the plants are small to avoid the covering of rock underneath them. The plants in a rock garden generally require less water. That can be an advantage for some gardeners as the rocks add beauty to the garden without any hard work and water, which means lesser maintenance cost.

Rock gardens generally look like a pile of rocks arranged according to desire and the plants are often arranged to cover up the gaps between these rocks. Also there will be small stones on the ground, which give the texture to the garden when looked at from the top.

To make the plants smaller, you can use bonsai, a miniaturized form of plants that's perfect for rock gardens. These gardens are built to look like natural crops of bedrock. Stones look like a bedding plane and plants in between the joints of these stones look like a cover up giving it a natural look.

Mr. Ploop,

I have written a different description. But I don\'t why editors changed that to this way. That too with a spelling mistake.

It is a terrible mistake on the part of the triond editing team. But they never did like this for any of my other articles.

So this is one human or machine error and just ignore it. Better read the entire article.
