Nepenthes Ventricosa

N. ventricosa is probably the prettiest beginner's carnivorous plant. It is by far the easiest nepenthes to grow and very exotic looking. Highly recommended!

Cultivation Ease:

Super incredibly VERY easy (for a nep).

Watering:

3 times a week with purified/bottled/RO/not sink/not hose water should do fine, just keep the soil wet.

Humidity:

50-100% is optimum. This plant does amazing in windowsills and as a house plant (near window). Over time might do well outdoors year round (we've never tried this)

Light:

at least 60% (more accepted over time)

Temp:

60-85 is optimum. Ours have withstood 130 with 10% humidity for a few days, but this is very dangerous to the plant. Try to supply a temperature drop at night.

Natural Range:

As with all other neps, N. ventricosa is native to the Indo-Pacific area of our great world. More specifically it is native to the Philippines. Grown as early as the Victorian Era, N. Ventricosa is often overlooked as a common “mutt” of nepenthes. This is far from the truth! With new bigger, easier (if that's possible!), and more colorful cultivars coming out, hopefully this prejudice will be overcome.
