My Top Five Perennial Plants

A mix of good plants which can all be grown or found in garden centers London.

Arum Lily (Calla Lily)

This stunning perrenial is ideal for full sun and boggy conditions. It will look great on a pond margin, flower bed or in a tub. This gorgeous plant is full hardy and will come back year after year.

Flowers between may and June producing many stems of elegant white flowers. Average height of 90 cm and 60cm wide. This plant can be divided into many more plants between march and July.

This worth spending money on as it will bring much joy for many years.

Osmunda Regularis (Flowering Fern)

This fern is fresh bright green colour with ladder like leaves and yellow

feather like flowers.

This fern can grow up to 2 metres high and 4 metres wide. It looks great in a large tub or in a border. It prefers moist acid soil in full sun or partial shade,

This fern dies down for the winter and can be divided between September and march.

Warm Welcome Rose

I am no way a fan of roses, but this one is my exception. It has a dark green and red foliage which is much smaller than the normal foliage of a rose. The flowers are a bright red/orange which contrasts with the foliage really well. This rose is slightly scented and flowers from the spring until autumn.

It can get to 10ft tall and about 5 foot wide. Sunny south facing wall is ideal.

Could get a picture to do rose justice you have to see one in person.

Heacheras

These plants are very under stated. They come in many different colours and variations of foliage. They are great for any aspect and are great for pots or in borders and for any type of soil. What more could you ask for in a plant. Flowers from June to august but the flowers are not as nice as the foliage. It can be divided September to November.

Arisaema Sikokianum (Cobra Lily)

This has to be one the most strangest yet beautiful flowers on the market. With its stripy mauve/chocolaty flower with marshmallow like centre. These are easy to grow although they do not look it the seeds also grow on very well. They like moist soil in partial shade and can grow to 6 inches tall and wide. With showy foliage. Looks great in a woodland style garden.
