How to Make a Flower Garden

Improving your garden can really make a difference.

Have you just designed your new home or do you just want to add some character to your place by adding some flowers ? Is your home boring and just need something around it or just a small addition to what decorations you have around. There are several people that are living day to day planting flowers and shrubbery. Elderly people especially love to plant flowers around their home. If you're one of these people that just love to plant flowers or shrubbery around your home, then this article is just for you and what you need to do to flavor up your home with just one simple thing that you can easily do if you want to take the time to do it and have the time and patience to do it.

You can easily add a flower bed in front, by the sides and or behind your very own home. The first step in making your very own flower bed is to first pick out the area in which you will be making it. You can make it almost anywhere you so choose. I prefer to make my flower beds to where everyone driving by can see the spectacular view as they're driving.

If you choose to follow this article and my directions, you could have a breathtaking flower or shrubbery garden.

Lets say you choose to do your flower garden in the front of your house.

First: You will need to clear out the area in front of your home where you choose to do the garden. You will need to clear it of any grass, weeds or any other objects that are unsightly. You need to get it down to the bare dirt.

You then need to loosen up all of the soil where you choose. You can do this with a simple shovel if you choose. Just dig and chop up the dirt that comes up.

Next: You then want to plant your flowers or seeds in the area putting taller plants towards the back and smaller plants in the front. You can also mix and match plants by placing a center piece in with flowers of the same size as the center piece. Place a plant in the center that is neutral to the surrounding flowers. Don't place too many magnolias into the flower bed otherwise they could possibly drown out the other flowers or plants.

You can then decorate your flower bed with rocks if you so choose or a dark or light mulch. I would suggest using a dark mulch to surround your plants if you have a dark exterior of your house and a lighter mulch for lighter exteriors. People love the looks of rocks though. It's unique and you can also place statues on the rocks that are within your flower or shrubbery garden.

These are simple steps that you can take in order to make a great and beautiful flower bed.
