Horticulture is the culture of growing of garden plants. This takes place many garden and plant growth centres. In horticulture .plants are grown as seedlings. Plant nurseries prepared seeds, cut plants and grow mature plants. These are sold and sent for market gardens and ornamental gardens.
Horticulturists include people different fields from different activities. They are work in industry, government and educational institutions. They work in cropping fields as engineers, wholesale and retail business managers, propagators, crop inspectors, crop production advisers, plant breeders and also teachers.
Horticulture complement the courses that are botany, biology, entomology, chemistry, math's, genetics, statistics, computer science and communications, garden design and plant design.
In horticulture plant science courses are plant materials, plant propagation, tissue culture, crop production, economics, and business.
Horticulturists work in plant propagation, crop production, plant breeding, plant biochemistry, pliant physiology and genetic engineering. They work in storage, processing and transportation of fruits, berries, nuts, vegetables, shrubs, flowers, trees and turf. They improve the crop yield, nutrition value and quality and resistance to insects, diseases, and environmental stresses.
Horticulture study involves five areas. Promology, floriculture, post harvest physiology, landscape horticulture are the five areas of study in horticulture.
