Flowers Your Garden Will Love

If you love to garden, you know how great it is to have variety of flowers. These are 10 flowers that would look great in any garden.

Tulips

Tulips are one of the most beautiful flowers in the garden during the spring time. The tulip bulbs should be planted in late October or early November. If you really wanted to you could plant them in the really early Spring, but you might not get good results. The bulbs need to be planted four-six inches apart and six-eight inches deep. Tulips come up in a variety of colors, some are solid colors and some are two-toned. Tulips need full to mostly sunlight during the day. They have a beautiful scent and look great in a vase!

Lily

Ah! The beautiful Lily! Whenever Summer rolls around I think of the Lily because of the flower's beauty and grace. The bulbs of the Lily should be planted in early spring or late October. Lilies need to be planted eight inches deep into the soil and spaced 12-18 inches apart from each other. The Lily needs full to mostly sunlight. It is very fragrant, in a good way! The colors the Lily come in are white, yellow, gold, orange, pink, and red.

Daffodil

If you have ever planted a Daffodil: you know how gorgeous they are! One of my friend's mom planted them, and every spring we would go outside and cut them to put into a vase. These flowers smell heavenly! One must plant Daffodils in September or early October. The Daffodil's seasonal colors are yellow, pink, peach, or white. The flower needs full sunlight to mostly sunlight.

Glory-of- the- Snow

Have you ever heard of a flower that came up so early that sometimes it snows while they're in bloom? You plant Glory-of-the-Snow in September through early October. The bulbs need to be in three to four inches deep and one to three inches apart from each other. The flower needs to be in full to mostly sunlight. This flower is truly angelic. When I look at it I think of heaven on earth! You must plant this flower during late September through early October. The Summer Snowflake needs to be planted four to five inches deep, and they need to be three to five inches apart from each other. This flower blooms in late Spring, and has a beautiful fragrance, and needs full to mostly sunlight.

Ornamental Onion

Yes, I said that this plant is an onion. My Dad planted one in his garden couple of years ago and it grows fairly tall, and has a beautiful lilac color, and it looks very beautiful. You can eat the onion if you want to, but hen you would have no flower. You can plant this flower in late September to early October, or you can plant it in really early spring. The bulb needs to be planted five inches deep and spaced three to five inches apart. The Ornamental Onion needs full sun to partial sun.

Bleeding Heart

These beautiful heart-shaped flowers just take your breath away, don't they? Plant the bleeding heart in the Spring in partial shade. The plant doesn't grow well in hot, dry, or windy locations. The bleeding heart needs to be spaced 18-24 inches apart. This flower attracts butterflies to your garden, so your garden will look more full of life than ever!

Koreanspice Viburnum

Picture it, on a nice day in the late Spring, looking at your garden and seeing an elegant shrub that is dotted with white or pink flowers. Wouldn't it be a beautiful sight? You can plant this shrub in spring or fall in full sun. The shrub blooms in late spring. Space shrubs 10 feet apart. This shrub is fragrant, has food for wild life, attracts bees, looks great in fall, and can support wildlife.

Rugosa Rose

This rose will attract butterflies, bees, and the beautiful hummingbird to your garden. Plant the Rugosa Rose in the early spring, it needs full sunlight or mostly sunlight. The Rugosa Rose has a nice fragrance, a long blooming period, and looks good in the fall. You can get this plant in purple, pink, or white flowers. Blooms in early summer until first frost.

These elegant flowers look great in a bouquet. Plant the Peony's in September in full sun. Their blooming period season is in late Spring to early summer. Peony's should be planted one to one and a half inch deep and should be three feet apart. The seasonal color of the Peony is white, pink, or crimson, and they attract butterflies. Beautiful flowers. It makes me feel like spring. The only plant I knew that blossomed in the snow was the Cyclamen. The Glory of the Snow is beautiful and I love the bleeding heart too.

Great article, Alexa.
