We All Have Them and Wisdom Too

Teething stories never end. From the cradle to the grave teeth stay support and help us to grow, finally we have to part with them and sometimes when tragedy strikes teeth tell others about our identity.See how true it is.

As soon as I finished my first article on Teeth and feeling very excited about writing it I went to the living room where I keep the tea stuff ready. I wanted to relax for a few minutes, I switched on the TV and there on the channel was Mr. Bean brushing his teeth while driving his car. He was on his way to the Dentists clinic and then what fun it was to see his antics on the dental chair and I believe we all enjoy Mr. Bean's stories...

but see this side of our growing up life is indeed unforgettable hilarious though painful at the same time.

One day visiting my daughter I thought I may have to stay overnight so I hurriedly put my toothbrush in my handbag. My granddaughter Sana soon had it in her hand as my handbag is her first attraction.'Nano' as she calls me, here brush your teeth, she made me put the brush on the front teeth, "now take it to the side , now the other side, no no Nano, (as she calls me), we do it this was and then that way and I got all the instructions and had to follow them till she was satisfied. OH MY.....my daughter had been giving her lessons on "How to brush the teeth' and she proved a perfect teacher....I was so happy to see that...Teaching being my profession...well...I hope Sana doesn't have any wisely problems, I mean teething ones'

We all face our share of Teething problems and parents go through a tough time when their children are bringing out the canines molars and wisdoms.

My time was also a terrible one. An x-ray taken with great difficulty as the small square piece of film was inserted beside the gum inside the mouth and I was told to place a finger on my cheek outside and keep it pressed...OH , the seconds seemed hours...the results showed a deep impaction and a date was set for the extraction.

I saw fear writ large on the Dentist's face while mine was full of cutting pain how on earth is this going to come out it is very deep and angular it may cause paralysis.... the doctor went on commenting and ..I drifted thankfully into the effects of the anesthesia.

Why is it a Wise Tooth....I am hardly 18. Is one wise at this age? I felt quite brave and bold....

This tooth, leave alone making me wise, almost killed me; I went into four dental surgeries and was on liquid diet for a month, sipping through a straw. I lost considerable weight and two months of vital study time in college, but Thank God the Principal took me in.....I survived.

Our English Literature Teacher , wife of a prominent doctor and sister of a famous surgeon would always be giving health tips and advice to the students but one day in the poetry teaching session, she suddenly stopped reading , looked up took off her glasses and said

'where is she , what's her name...she took the students name, there she was sitting right in the back row

'well, dear you don't write like this...'these lines have been extracted from the poem...it sounds like a dental problem.....

see we can never forget our dental stories and would love to relate them? don't you think so?

I remember the lines my father often used to sing whenever he was in the mood, and he loved classical music but I enjoyed these, anyone know the whole song? I think it was from a fairy tale movie..

'He's a mental giant

Mental, dental? That's inconsequental'.I enjoyed my father's singing .I never understood the meaning then. and now I am a published poet.

I know these lines added to my developing love of English language surely enabling me to love creative writing bear the pain, of terror...er...er...no. teething plots. OH, Breaking News.....Terror plot thwarted'

Pakistani origin'..

Do you know when our great leader Gen Zia was killed in a plane crash his body was identified by the dentures. May his soul rest in peace. amen.
