I can think back to when I was a teenager. I remember saying things I did not mean. Today teenagers say many things which are filled with anger, and words containing angry thoughts. Why is this happening?
Teenagers need to express themselves. They need to say what is on their mind. Sometimes it can be quite embarrassing. If they are allowed to express themselves then there will be less angry talk. Encouraging them to keep a diary of how they feel and using paints and paper to express their thoughts in art form helps alleviate their stress as well as the parents who listen to the growing pains. And yes--- growing pains of the adolescent years can be rough---- but they can be survived by all of us with proactive thoughts, and healthy ways to meet the needs of the growing-up teenager.
