Saturday the thirteenth we celebrated my son Kyle's fourteenth birthday. Right off I knew it was going to be a long, but even longer night. There was me, the birthday boy Kyle, my daughter Amber, my brother Tom and his son Thomas, my parents, Kyle's friends Tyler, Craig, Ashley, Kyla and Brittany. A full house! The actual birthday part wasn't too bad. We all laughed and got along. Kyle got embarrassed by the fact that his uncle and cousin gave him his first Playboy magazine. It was funny to see his reaction. It was what came later that drove me almost crazy.
So my nephew Thomas was spending the night like always. Then Kyle also had Tyler and Craig stay over. Now my nephew is a big boy and does not like Tyler at all and would lay him out in minute if he got to annoying. I am no fan of Tyler either. He thinks he's a gangster and tries to act like he's big and bad. Just to let everyone know, he isn't. He is actually a wimp from what I saw. The other kid Craig, I had never met or seen before. He was little arrogant, but very funny.
I had already warned Tyler the day before that if he step out of line ONCE that, that was it. I would call the cops then his mother. Now I was still debating the whole thing of letting them stay considering I hadn't talked to their parents. So then Craig's mother should up and I talked to her which maybe me feel better since I have known his mom for years. She is strict and she also warned him. He isn't a bad kid from what I had seen. He would make a great comedian when he gets older.
The next was Tyler's mom which I had met before a few times. She told me right in front of Tyler to go ahead and call the cops or her if he caused any problems. She sounded strict, but I really wasn't completely convinced because that kid gets away with a lot.
So there it was four fourteen year old testosterone filled boys. They talk like truck drivers only at a few levels higher than normal people talk. They are sneaky, rude, disrespectful and down right boys. Now let me clarify that my nephew is not like this and for the most part that Craig kid was somewhat respectful. They talked about things that I didn't want to know and things that were somewhat interesting. Then of course there were things that they didn't want me to know.
They played Rockband on and off all night. When I say all night, I mean they were still playing at three and four am. Kyle, Thomas and Tyler wondered to the store a few times to suppose ably get snacks and drinks. Tyler ran his mouth like always to this sixteen year old boy, but then wouldn't step off the porch to back his shit up. What a little bitch? Lol! I ended up having to play referee and bodyguard to a kid I really don't like. It was childish and pathetic.
Then there were the wrestling matches in the house and on the front porch between Kyle and Tyler, Kyle and Craig and Tyler and Craig. The only one that I never had to worry about was my nephew Thomas. Some of it was funny and some was down right aggravating.
I had to yell at Kyle more than once due to his attitude and behavior. He had started the weekend with it anyway, but when he gets with certain people he becomes such an ass. I know it's mean to say, but it's the truth. He thinks he has to act all tough and shit. About three am I heard them downstairs playing Rockband and talking really loud. Swearing a lot, laughing like a bunch of hyenas. They acted and sounded like they were stoned. Plus their conversations led me to think that Tyler and Kyle had smoked something or took something they weren't suppose to. I listened for a bit then heard some more and went downstairs. I had words with Kyle upstairs and told Tyler and Craig that I had no problems calling their parents if I found out that they were smoking or anything. Now it didn't help that earlier I found another lighter in Kyle's room and that it smelt like cigarettes or something. It also didn't help that Tyler had made a comment directly to me about how he prefers smoking pot over cigarettes. Kyle wonders why I don't trust him or his friends.. What would any parent think after a comment like that?
